Very good pizza and amazing foccaccia. One of the best pizzas in Malta

Proper Sicilian pizza at a very reasonable price. Perfect location for a quick bite after a walk on the promenade.
Gianni Selvaggi
Definitely one of the best pizza places in Malta. Favourite would be the don corleone pizza. We also like that they offer various types of dough.

I have struggled to find places that I like to eat near where I live, so really pleased to find Cafe de Republic that serves good local food and very reasonable prices. We sat down at a table and had to wait for a few minutes to receive menus, but after that, the lady serving us was very polite and friendly. My nephew and I both ordered the house burger, great value at €7 each. I have a feeling we'll be going back fairly soon.

We were in severe need of a pit stop and this was the first place we could find where we could park close by in a day of unusually pouring rain!
We were, however, not disappointed. Pleasant and clean, friendly and efficient service with delicious snack food. What it lacked in haute cuisine, it made up for in honest to goodness fast food. We had a Maltese firta generously filled, a toastie, both accompanied by coleslaw and crisps, a portion of freshly cooked and delicious fries with two beautifully frothy lattes. The damage was €9... yes, you read that right... nine euros. Customers were typically Maltese which is probably why the cost was so reasonable. You could even have a cognac for €1.65... seriously...

Whilst on holiday in Malta we enjoy exploring the non-touristy areas.
We had a pleasant walk along the long main street in Hamrun, admiring all the different shops, and popped in here during our travels for light refreshments.
My wife ordered a chocolate milkshake, whilst I ordered a Kinnie, and was tempted by a piece of one of their cakes.
Service was pleasant, and we didn't have to wait long.
I am not sure what the name of the cake was which I chose, as I pointed out its position in the refrigerated cabinet to the waitress, but whatever it was, it was very good!
We really enjoyed our visit here, thought it was very good value for money, and would recommend.
