Clode to the church and with an exquisite touch of the classic coffee shop offering a selection of sweets and pastries. Highly recommended for a quick bite.

it is very good to take a cup of coffee,a cheese cake and a desert, the prices are very attractive.in my opinion inside is a bit old fashioned and in need of some upgrades.the seating is a bit too much in the sense that tables and chairs are abit crowded one next to the other so it might not be as comfortable and/or private.food is good and well priced.

Elia is well known with us from Hamrun. It is a family traditipnal maltese style restaurant. It is always a pleasure to treat yourself with good food and service.

Just called in to buy pizzetti (spiced pea pasties) and stayed for afternoon tea as the cakes are irresistible, wine is also good. Came back twice during our stay as its a perfect Italian style cake shop.

Located on the main street in Hamrun, it's not a place many tourists will find themelves in. But this is a really nice cafe. Very rich, dark decor. It reminds me very much of the famous Caffe Cordina in Valletta - superb cakes, nice drinks - but probably half the price!
Good for morning coffee, lunch, any meal at any time of day.

Elia Cafe is the best in town cafe. Always filled with local people. If you are in Hamrun you must try the kannoli or the sinizza.

Ever since I can remember, it has always been on everyone's mind that Elia Cafe in Hamrun is the place to be for that Sunday Coffee and pastry cakes. Worth the experience!

Elia is synonymous with good catering in Malta... they specialize in a lot of wedding catering which is always fresh and delicious. At their cafe in the centre of Hamrun, just opposite St Gaetan Church, one can have a delicious snack such as a pie, pizza etc. whilst their cakes are second to none. The place does seem to feel a little in need of a more updated interior, but then if you are there for good food at a great price, then this is it.

We noticed this place while passing on the bus, and decided to pay a visit one evening. Looking from outside it looks relatively small so we were amazed at the size when we visited. At 6pm the place was full although we were lucky to wait only a couple of minutes for a table. The staff were very polite and the service was very quick. The food was excellent. To order a cake, one of us went to the cake counter and ordered the desired cakes and gave our table number and in under 2 minutes the cakes were brought to our table. This seemed unusual but I can see why this system is used as the choice of cakes and pastries is unbelievable. All at reasonable prices. 2 ciabattas, 2 drinks and 2 cakes for under 18 euros in total. The cafe was clearly a favourite with the Locals.

We stopped at Hamrun and visited St Gaetan's church which is magnificent and very well decorated. In front of the church is located Elia Cafe'. We had a quick snack and a coffee. The food and atmosphere were really great and we enjoyed our short stay there. The staff were very quick in serving guests and prices were great to the pocket!!!

They have delicious pastries ,arancini, & baguettes . My favourite is the lampuki pie which you find it seasonal & the chicken & muschroom one. I always opt for the hot chocolate in winter & strawberry granita in the hot summer months .The desserts are awesome and too many to choose from and finally I opted for a fruit tart. Good value for money.

This Café is excellent for a light well deserved lunch!! with fantastic cakes and sweets, it is a must to people that have never been. The pastry selection is enormous.
I had a Roast beef salad to start, followed by Almond Pie, both excellent!! loved it. My partner and my brother had Tuna Pie, very good, portions are great!! The sweets varied from Lemon Meringue pie, to Apple Pie.
Followed by Coffe, it was perfect lunch!!

This place is so lovely
A really beautiful interior where cakes, pies, pastrys, pizzas etc are cooked fresh & you can have hot & cold beverages as well
With old fashioned waiters who are charming & helpful, many families & friends congregate to chat in this cafe which been open since 1953
Situated bang smack opposite a beautiful church
You feel right at home sipping coffee & sampling the pastries which are made with so much love & attention,
Their cake counter is a marvel to the eyes so many artistic things to look at & also lots of chocolate splendour too,
You just cannot see Malta without visiting this wonderful cafe.

By far the best cafeteria in Hamrun and in the places nearby. Also great food especially for parties.

Meat pies to die for. A well deserved coffee break. I always take a goody bag with me home when I visit this place, sweets and pastries and savoury items too. Sending sweets abroad to family members is now becoming a habit.

Elia is one of the most famous caterers in Malta. they are famous not only for their wedding catering but also for their cafeteria in Hamrun. the place is a good place to go for a quick snack and a coffee and of course their pastries and sweets. But one of the things on their menu that i will never miss is the Lampuki Pie in September and the strawberry garnita during summer. the staff are very friendly and the place gives you a warm welcome

My cousin and our wives were visiting from England, we met up with our Maltese cousins and at short notice walked into Elia Café. We explained to them that we were meeting our cousins ( in total eleven of us ). The staff were absolutely lovely and put tables together for us in a secluded part of the café where we were on our own. Again at short notice they provided us with beautiful sandwiches canapes and wonderful deserts. some very nice bottles of wine, teas and coffees. All of the staff went out of there way to make our reunion a huge success and we are all very grateful to them. My wife and my English cousins are only sorry Elia café is in Malta and not England.
