Decided to make a reservation on the spur of the moment. The place is small but the atmosphere is very nice. The food is great, we ordered one chicken with mushroom sauce and one ribeye. All cooked to perfection. The desert was amazing I took the homemade tiramisu. Will be visiting again soon. The evening was a success.

Very nice food, friendly people. They even got out an extra table for us as we hadn't booked. Mainly Italian food, but well prepared and cooked. A great ambience.

While having excellent food, the atmosphere & the service are excellent too. Amazing staff well done to all for the great service. Visited couple of times & never disappointed, my small tip try the risotto it is one of my favourite plates.

We were about the first ones in the restaurant but were greeted nicely at first. When I came in with my wife and kid it took a while to get some help. Afterwards also, we didn't feel important. When we wanted to leave the staff changed and were actually really friendly. I will go here again! The food was really good and the place itself is actually really nice. Just watch your customers a little better and give them some attention.

We celebrated my cousin's Confirmation dinner at this quaint small restaurant in the heart of Haz-Zebbug. Upon entering, it gives you the impression that this was an old townhouse converted into a restaurant. The decor is antique, yet innovative. They use used tomato sauce tins as cutlery holders which is a great recycling idea. The toilets are clean but small, decorated with a black board with chalk so that guests can write a message. The sink basin is an old wine barrell which was also very cool. First we had three rounds of appetizers: 1. Cold cuts and cheese platter - contained salami, brie cheese, blue cheese and other cheeses, bread biscuits and cranberry jam. This was delicious and a great entree 2. Stuffed mushrooms - porcini mushrooms stuffed with speck and filled with a DIVINE mushroom sauce infused with melted cheese. This was a mind-blowing dish, everyone was super impressed by these Heavenly bites! 3. Vitello tonnato - thinly cut veal pieces served with a cold tuna paste. This was also good Then as a starter we had the risotto Porcini Mushroom with speck, mushroom soup or orechiette bolognese. Both dishes were homemade and delicious, the risotto especially was savoury and thick with a nice salitiness to it. Those who had mushroom soup were blown away by how good it was Mains we all had the tagliata served with parmesan, cherry tomatoes and roasted veg and potatoes. Now being a fries fan, I was sceptical about the roasted potatoes. However these were so sublime that I ordered an extra portion! Cut in wedges, they were crispy yet soft and contained thr right amount of salt and oil! The meat was juicy and tender. Perfect parmesan to complement it. Recommended! Service was friendly and very good portions. Amazing food and great prices. Pleasantly surprised!

i was in Malta for a week & stayed in haz zebugg . i ate at the lokomotif kafe 4 nights & is was fabulous . Everything i had was delicious . The service was great as well . Oh & the atmosphere was lovely too.

Had an amazing time at Lokomotif cafe. Amazing dinner, good variety of delicious food, amazing wine, dishes of meat and fish, amazing cheese, delicious desert and grappa! Will repeat soon. Perfect to all occasions.

We were staying in the area and tried this restaurant, we weren't disappointed. Great service, good food (succulent and tender pork fillet, delicious Porcini gnocchi). Good wine list too! (Note:Cash only) Unfortunately we were too full for dessert

We had dinner here while staying in the area. The salmon crusted with almonds was delicious and perfectly done. The presentation was also nicely done. The server was initially cool, but warmed up as our evening evolved. Complementary appetizer was provided. We would definitely return.

I visited with friends late Sept. We were staying nearby and had read the reviews and thought we’d pop in on a Friday eve. The vibe was very relaxed and the food and wine beautiful. The service was very slow which was frustrating at times, but actually in the end didn’t impact our experience as we left full and rather merry. Everyone loved their food but the linguini was particularly good (and coffee was very good too). Definitely recommend this place, but just don’t expect to be in and out quickly!

A real gem of a place. The food is always excellent & Francesca works incredibly hard. Some help front of house would probably increase spend per head. Great to see it always busy.

What a delight. All our dishes were delicious. A very relaxed and informal dining experience, ideal if you just want to sit and unwind with a cold drink. The food is definitely something this place should shout about. Compliments to the chef!

Typical Maltese old time Kafe in the core of the village. My family and I were there on Wednesday. Ideal day and time not to find a crowded place. The food was delicious. The service was impeccable. The price was optimal. I fully recommend the place, for a quite musical evening and exquisite food.

Excellent place run by an Italian couple. Wife is a very attentive waitress, while the husband performs the magic in the kitchen, while still being able to sneak out for a little chat. Wonderful antipasti followed by superb salmon and angus tagliata. Visited two days in a row. Waitress already treated us as regular customers. Highly recommended

Very nice Italian trattoria, food was excellent from a small changing menu, simple wine list at a reasonable price. Better to do a small number of things well enjoyed it so much went twice in a one week holiday. Service quick enough and very friendly.
