We went for coffee and cake in the middle of the day. The cake selection was really good and we weren't disappointed. We stayed for quite a long time and it was very relaxed. We were in a small square right in the centre of the city.
Later in the day we decided to go for dinner, but when we went they shut very early (even though we'd checked on the website and it said they were open)

The café offers a very wide range of interesting cold and hot dishes at lunchtime, as well as an extensive wine and drinks list. Very pleasant terrace overlooking the Parliament Building and the Teatru Rjal. Used extensively by the local office workers and staff from the Contemporary Arts Centre - and you can see why. Good service.

We've been visiting this Restaurant for over fifteen years and I'm glad to say we've never been disappointed. Excellent ambience both inside and on the terrace, excellent service and a wide variety of food to choose from.

The evening I went to check it out (recommended in my guidebook), I was surprised to see it almost empty. It seemed many people had gone to the celebrations of Valletta FC winning the Premier League.
The menu has many items. I ordered one of the specials of the day, tagliatelle with olives and tuna and a local white wine. Both were very nice. The staff (a gentleman) was very friendly and service was quick. As there was no other customer, we also had a nice conversation about different things. Before the cafe closed, a couple came in to have coffee and dessert. They told me the place was one of their favourite spots. I could see why.
Would like to go back next time in Valletta. Highly recommended.

Eat here on three occasions. If one wants a snack or simple meal at a reasonable price in comfortable surroundings this is ideal. (The 'photo of the formal looking chairs and tables is not how it is now; much more cafe layout now.) The menu offers a wide choice. However, finding it might be a challenge, depending which entrance one uses, in the labyrinthine St. James Cavalier Centre for Creativity.

Family dinner, very good service, nice food, loved the Thai Curry. Very good portions so one plate is sufficient.

Whatever your appetite, whatever you fancy, you can get here. Large range of cakes on display and a full menu covering snacks to large meals! The food is excellent and the prices very reasonable. We come here regularly and can definitely recommend it!

Been here many times either for meals, drinks or coffee. Never disappoints, good service and high quality food. The other bonus for us is a good selection of vegetarian dishes. The outside area overlooking Freedom Square is lovely on a summer evening. Can’t fault the place and would particularly recommend the Christmas cake!

We had a nice and tasty lunch in Inspirations. It is easy to find, when entering Valletta through the gates coming to the square with the auditorium, look to your right. There it is on a terrace. Good food with friendly staff.

Had Focaccia Brie and Parma ham (7 Euro) little filling (1 slice ham and little Brie), consistency of Foccacia was of hard dried biscuit. Menu said served with crisps and it came with three rather stale crisps. Bottom line : enjoy location and stay with drinks and avoid the Focaccia in any case. Perhaps other food is better. Service no problem and ok.

We had been to the St James art gallery during the afternoon and returned later for our evening meal having booked a table ( not necessary although we were able to choose our table when booking)
The menu was good. Not fine dining but good Maltese dishes and wine. Nicely served. Bistro/ Restaurant/cafe is adjacent to the rebuilt Theatre/ Opera building as well as the Parlisment building.
So definately very much centre of Valletta.
Stepped entrance from the Parliament side.

After all the building works in Valletta, it was a relief to find that Inspirations was still there. A lot of Maltese cafes have abandoned Maltese specialities, but here you can still get a selection of Maltese pies plus pasta, wraps and a wide variety of other food. The portions are big and the prices extremely reasonable. Entrance is either up the steps from the square or next to the post office opposite the Upper Barakka Gardens.

We were two for lunch, a salad and chicken with rice. Both dishes were delicious! Good location, as well!
