Went with my family for lunch, very small place and easily fills up. Good food, ok service but lacks ambiance. They have a problem with the extraction and fresh air in the restaurant. You need to see the place for what it is and not go with high expectations.

CARBONARA CARBONARA and.. CARBONARA. The ONLY place in Malta, where you can have real, tasty, delicious carbonara... Honestly, it`s better then you expect. Please, go and try it, as I can`t really explain how it feels... it`s just perfect! No worries, they can provide other meals also.. such as Chicken salad, incredibly huge portion, Risotto, Hamburgers and everything you might like for lunch. The staff is great, fast and nice always... I`m a regular customer, I just can`t get enough of it.

This is one of our habitual places for lunch. Staff is very effecient and helpful. Waiting time is normal. Every dish we tried was very good. We love their salads and their freshly prepared fruit juices. Moreover, it is very good value for money. Highly recommended. Isabelle Borg

Discovered this great place when furniture hunting. Well hidden in an uninspiring street. Step inside to a delightful cafe. Great food for lunch. Great for a quick coffee stop (good little homemade biscuit with it). Been many times now and on every occasion the staff have been helpful and attentive. Classic rock music playing so don’t go there expecting silence. Highly recommended.

I understand that this restaurant/cafe was opened to cater for the work-force of the immediate locality and maybe it is not on everyone's radar. However, it was packed the day we visited with friends so I suspect that booking a table is essential. The service is splendid and the staff all very friendly. The plates of food are generous, in fact too large for my appetite but the penne and pulled pork that I had was delicious. I understand that they serve breakfast as well but I did not experience it. They do not cater for evening dining.

I spotted this café merely by accident on my way back to my lodging in Birkirkara, so one the following morning I decided to go there for breakfast. Very welcoming staff and courteous service, and on top of all that a freshly blended multifruit smoothie and a sugary carrot and raisin cake with meringue glaze. Highly recommended.

We'd heard of Stanjata but had a hard time finding this cafe/bistro. We'd been catching up on some errands and both my wife and I were getting hungry. The place was already busy with people taking their lunch break. We just managed to grab the last table outside under the porch. I could see all the guests were enjoying their food and lingering. No one was in a hurry to leave. I myself found myself totally relaxed. Staff were absolutely helpful and charming. We ordered a beer and a shandy and was pleasantly surprised to find that they stocked my favourite Blue Label local beer. We ordered a pulled pork baguette and a Stanjata club sandwich which were both so perfectly done as to exceed our expectations. I had heard glowing accounts of this cafe' but had dismissed them as hype. However, i must admit that even my fussy palate could find no reservation about applauding this cosy , friendly , eating place. I will definitely go back and try other fare at Stanjata - if I manage to find an empty table, that is. It seems that reserving a table there has become the norm. Keep it up Stanjata! You've got a winning formula.

We had a reservation to ensure we got a table because it is popular at lunch time. Service was fast & efficient. We had the water plus ginger & lemon slices: truly refreshing, and one of their fresh juices. We ordered the chef's recommendations: 2 rissotto dishes, one with chicken + mushrooms; the other spicy with prawns. Amazing flavours & served piping hot.The portions were a good size, so didn't have room for dessert. It's a pity this place opens during the day & weekdays only. A true gem!

Loved this place. It's atmosphere and setting is particular and charming. The food served is very good and I liked the way that they combine ingredients in a very creative way to produce a unique eating experience. I especially loved the truffle panzerotti and the butternut salad. The juices were also very good! Well done to the chef and staff. Unfortunately the hours are not always convenient since it's only open till 5 and it can be quite a hectic restaurant.
