This was convenient as it was around the corner from where I was staying and good location, near the Armoury.

This is a resonably priced restuarant next to a modern food court serving many different stlyes of food. Our meal for 2 with wine cost 27.30 Euros. Our meal was OK. Please note the majority of the seating is outside under umbrellas with heating. Unfortunately Malta is behind the times when it comes to the amount of people smoking, so when a table finishes their meal they all start smoking! It's a Maltese thing!

We ate breakfast here several times on our recent (and very first) trip to Malta. We stayed at the Pjazza Merkanti Suites, across the street, and our package included breakfast at the Star. Now, often when you have this kind of arrangement you go to the place, get a coffee and a roll and that's it. But this was a delicious full, cooked, breakfast, basically eggs and bacon or vegetarian eggs Benedict with mushrooms and spinach, PLUS a cornetto, PLUS a tasty ricotta filled pastry. And juice and coffee. We walked away feeling ready for the day. Not sure if the bistro has indoor seating; it is a little cold for sitting outside at this time of year.

Good cappuccino ! This cafe is in the front of the Food Market. Nice spot friendly service and good cappuccino.

I had a good time, the Maltese bread with aubergine and tomatoes was really good but the vegan burger was so basic, it was almost a joke, it was alright, but VERY simple. The service was polite but very slow.

Ideal location for very good breakfast before setting out to explore Valetta.
Lunch and dinner also available, but we didn't get back.

We called one lunch as the place was offering what seemed like decent salads. I ordered a chicken ceaser salad and my partner ordered a salmon salad which was supposed to come with avocado and salad leaves.
When the orders came my chicken caeser salad looked as it should but my partner's looked identical to mine except for the salmon flakes thrown on top. Both salads suffered from a huge excess of exceedingly salty bacon pieces and masses upon masses of parmesan cheese. The cheese wasn't in tiny flakes as it should be, but in huge slabs and slices.
This wasn't a meal more an eating challenge.

We came here for breakfast. I had the veggie Benedict and they were able to make it gluten free. They didn’t have gluten free listed on their menu but do have gluten free bread available. It was really nice and the eggs were cooked perfectly. They have a range of vegetarian options across their whole menu.

Well situated in the middle of Valletta, the outside seating is really nice in summer. Good coffee, and a surprisingly good Eggs Benedict. I would definitely come back again.

Lovely cafe with good service. Plenty of seats when we were there as most people tend to stick to the main thoroughfares. This was easy to find and there are food restaurants inside as well with pleanty of space to eat. Our drinks were cold and the milkshakes were excellent. Prices very reasonable too.

The cafe seems to incorporate Burgers INK (which cannot be found on Trip Adv).
We sat inside, in full view of a myriad of staff running in and out of the food preparation area; some for private group chats and others for unknown reasons. To be completely honest, all I could think about as I was eating my dinner was whether these staff were washing their hands after re-entering the food prep. area. Given the frequency of the running in and out, it seems doubtful.
On to the food. Fries were nice and crispy, though not particularly hot. Burger was average and there was no pickle in the South London burger that I had.
In summary, we would not go back. Primarily because of the service and observations, but also because there are better choices to be made, even in the market itself.

This cafe is outside from the food market and grocery store. We had a pretty good lunch, good people watching, I had the Quinoa Salad with feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives and tomatoes which was tasty and my husband had the ham and cheese quiche. He thought his portion was small. Service was nice.

My husband and I visited this cafe today, the staff were so professional, and our food great. The tiramisu is the best we’ve ever had.
Would highly recommend this cafe

We just came here for a drink but the market itself fantastic for food choices with a large central bar, all food looked fab. The Star cafe has this large terrace, really nice if the sun out. Prompt service & good for people watching.

Had the best English breakfast on the Island here in the Star Cafe and my girlfriend had yoghurt and a fruit bowl
We looked a long time for a restaurant wich serves not only salty stuff and found it here.
Good quality and fast order.

Step to the right as you walk down the main street,” located on the corner (google directions). Much nicer than many of the bars and restaurants on the main drag.
Large glass fronted sun terrace which also offers shade and protection from the wind, busy and nice place.
Lovely friendly service. Nice place for relaxing and people watching. Food platters are good too if you fancy a healthier nibble, try sharing one between 2.
A little more expensive than other places but you can still get a lovely bottle of Red wine for 20 euro. Try the Maltese Cabernet Sauvignon, delightful.
Recommended.
