For an out of the way restaurant the food was superb. I had lampuki and the fish sauce was the best I've had in malta. I've lived here for 5 years and eaten a lot of lampuki with Maltese fish sauce. I would have given 5 stars if they had sold Maltese wine. We had to buy chablis instead. We will be back, service was very good too, excellent, thank you

Nice environment, good food and friendly staff. Enjoyed a lovely sunday lunch in the Naxxar village centre. The village fish platter for two to share was delicious. Sorry I ate it before I managed to take a photo ;)

Our weekly lunch date with the Bros, this time at The Village Kitchen, we chose it because finding parking there is quite easy and also we were told that the food was good!
Quite true, easy parking, good lunch and superb service, the only thing the menu describes the pasta I chose comes with local clams, I guess that is true if one considers Sicily as local. Food is great at reasonable prices!!

Visited this restaurant with my family, we order a variety of dishes, one of which was the prawn risotto. This comes smoked and the taste experience is out of this world, they smoke it at the table for you in a glass dome, such a novelty idea. My kids can be fussy eaters but they loved the Wagyu Kobe Beef, such a beautiful piece of meat cooked to perfection. All of the dishes on the black truffle menu looked amazing but we only got to try the homemade gnocchi, it was devine.
This is a restaurant that you want to take all your friends and family, a hidden gem in one of the oldest villages in Malta. Parking is not an issue either, which is a lovely added benefit to the whole dining experience, not like the hustle and bustle of Sliema and St Julians where parking is a nightmare and very frustrating to say the least.
Highly recommend.

original ideas, both in terms of items on the menu as well as presentation. Great place for those who like to try something new.
Service was also efficient and staff where friendly. Personally I feel that it was good value for money. Prices may seem steep to some but to us it was well worth it.

We were a group of six and the only customers! The choice is varied but strictly adheres to what is on the menu. Vegetables and potatoes have to be ordered separately and that makes it even more expensive. The risottos were very good but unfortunately tepid and not hot!
The service was good.

We were taken to the Village Kitchen by friend who live in Malta. It lovely to be greeted at the door Baskar who showed us to our table.
Our friend could not find anything she liked on the Menu so the chef came for a chat and then made a Fantastic started and Main meal. Well done Mr Mitchell you have done it again with the Village Kitchen and we will be back when we are next in Malta.

food took a long time (which is ok) but its just too expensive . Even though the food was delicious its too expensive. And what I found a little bit cheeky was that with a steak you have to pay for the fries separately. Most restaurants offer chips & salad or veg with a steak, however this one doesn't. .

A chance trip to Cicchetti tapas bar close to the Church in Naxxar was the catalyst for today’s visit to its sister restaurant The Village Kitchen a few hundred meters away
Chef Mario, originally from Perugia in Italy is the ultimate Brand Ambassador- he comes up to the table asking if everything is in order and ends up becoming friends.
Wagyu beef carpaccio and asparagus with poached egg for starters came with a generous grating of summer truffle- divine!
Instead of main course we opted for another starter- fresh foie gras, pan seared , served with toasted brioche and a mini salad, which we accompanied with wilted spinach and perfect fries. A dish made in heaven. Too good and we didn’t have enough so another portion was shared, instead of dessert!!!...... or so we thought!
Chef Mario insisted we try the IGT piemontese pistachio ice cream. Certainly another triumph for this little-known 11-month old venture.
A lovely digestif list includes a selection of aged Grappa and Single Malts. What better way to round off dinner at the find of the year!
