Comfortably elegant setting, friendly and helpful staff, and really really really good food! What more do you want/need/expect/desire/demand?
Off the beaten path, this restaurant is nestled within a residential area.
Super tasty, complimentary wild mushroom & artichoke mousse. Some of the best olives I’ve ever had, in addition!
The wild pork and truffle pasta starter set the expectations for the main course. Having the lamb and my partner the fish special, they didn’t disappoint. Sufficient portions for a non-gluttonous diner. Beware the cost of the specials... the fish was easily the most expensive, single person menu item and wasn’t revealed until the bill arrived. Would easily go back and will also recommend to my Maltese friend....but who am I to say....I’m not a French trained chef.

Our experience here was wonderful from start to finish, the restaurant is comfortable with a lovely ambiance, the staff were friendly, professional and made us feel very welcome, the food was absolutely delicious, served beautifully.
One of the best dining experience we have ever had. Would highly recommend Noni and are looking forward to our next visit!

We went for dinner after the covid situation in Malta. The service was impeccable and the food was to die for. Very impressive to see traditional Maltese dishes transform into such an elegant dish. Will visit again for sure as this restaurant has made to the top of our favourites.

Finally had the chance to taste the new experience at Noni and it was fantastic from start to end! We had the tasting menu and got to try a little bit of everything. It was an explosion of flavour and culinary genius beyond what you could imagine, right down to the smell, texture and look (it was full of creative surprises). So so creative and well worth its earned star! If you enjoy your usual favourite or like to try new things, you will be satisfied either way. My recommendation is to not skip any course because you will be missing out on A LOT. Each dish cannot be underestimated or taken for granted (the fresh ravioli with tomato water was to die for). The tasting menu was appropriately paced and portioned enough to leave you wanting more between each course and perfectly satiated at the end. Please note I was also respected of my wishes to be served dishes appropriate for pregnancy and felt safe and comfortable all throughout the experience. The staff were super friendly and very helpful to suggest different things without having to ask. My partner also got to enjoy the wine pairing with each dish and was blown away with some of the glasses he tasted and the manager was kind enough to note them down for us. EXCELLENT, excellent, excellent. We really had an amazing time!

We went for the tasting menu, 6 course + starters and "petit fours" (so 8 course advertised) + wine selection.
While some course where insanely good (the tuna, lime, soy starter as well as the ricotta ravioli with tomato water), some where not up to standard (pork/bean/cassoulet was just over salty - that's all you can taste - , and the mango dessert had very good elements, but covered in way too sugary mango sauce which spoiled the taste. The fish (seabss, fresh choice of the day) was slightly overcooked, but to my taste only, my friends disagreed, the cumcumber ketchup was amazing though).
The wine offered with the tasting menu was brillant, the pinot noir going with the fish was spot impressive.
Overall a good food experience, but for 110€ pp (tasting menu + wine) not as good as it should be for a 1-star Michelin.
The service was spotless, nice, welcoming, explaining the wine when asked, perfect.
Kids running and playing hide and seek in the toilet is not what you expect for this standard though.

First time I felt an octopus on a plate was worth the wait, everything from the jerusalem artichoke starter to the yogurt cheesecake was flawless, very few restaurants can hit this kind of standard on the island and the Michelin star is well deserved.

Went there to celebrate my birthday. Booking was made online and there was a place for comments where the purpose of visits was indicated but this was never acknowledged at any time during our visit. Service was good but nothing special. Several tables are crammed into a small place and no privacy is afforded. We enjoyed the amuse bouche and our starters but we were disappointed with our main course which was beef on the rib. The portion size was generous but the quality was not great. We have had much better quality beef in much lower prized restaurants. The bread was very average. I have a ferry sweet tooth but failed to be impressed by the desserts served to the tables next to us so we opted for the cheese board. Sadly this was disappointing too. We very not given any information on the cheese served. Biscuits were very basic which included pieces of what appeared to be ryvita.
I write this review having been to a couple of Michelin star restaurants in London. On those occasions we were very pleasantly surprised and impressed with every single aspect. Bread was basket of 4 different types of homemade bread, a birthday card was ready and waiting at the table and a small gift presented as we were leaving, cheese came on a trolley with a huge selection and waiter explained each and every type of cheese on offer and guided us to choose. The accompaniments for cheese were varied. So we were expecting a little more than what we were offered at Noni even when compared to other top restaurants in Malta without a Michelin star.
Sorry Noni but this is an honest review. We were most disappointed with our visit as we had much higher expectations than was on offer.

They recently have acquired a Michelin star and it is obvious why when there. The service, atmosphere and offerings from the kitchen were all superior. My meal was artfully prepared, delicious and expertly served. Highly recommend. I had both specials that evening- octopus ragu on pepperdelle and the sea bass in chanpagne foam with spring vegetables. I am a tough reviewer on fish and this was without compare. Fresh, preperly cooked and beautifully presented.

Definitely not worth the star. I’ve tried 30+ Michelin restaurants and this is by far the worst experience!
The waiters couldn’t pair a wine to a dish! The oil spilled everywhere. Acoustic was bad.
Food was good - for sure - but not presented in a Michelin worthy style!
Go there for food - not for Michelin experiences.

The food was good. The sea bass fillet had bones in it. The tea was horrible - never drank such horrible water in my life - I guess thats why the people there drink wine only. Overall good

We ate downstairs and were glad we had booked as it was pretty busy at 8 pm. We both thought the food was excellent especially the Sea Bass special dish. The service was helpful including helping us choose a local white wine. The best meal we had in Valletta, highly recommended.

Excellent food and excellent service. One of the waiters, Sasha was especially attentive and friendly. Made the experience all together very enjoyable. Would definitely come again. Well done to all the team :)

This place just got a Michelin star so we tried it out for some birthday celebrations.
Great food and great service. Special shout out to Sasha who was one of the waiters on duty.
Amazing job would definitely recommend !
Loved it.

Visited for my birthday with friends and had the best evening in a long while! The amuse, starter and main (the rabbit is to die for) as well as the desert were simply delicious and amazing. This was all complemented by excellent service provided by the manager and Sasa ! Thank you so much for the lovely evening !

We booked here in advance having read about it in the BA in flight magazine!
Small place, most of the tables in a well lit basement. Small but interesting menu.Amusebouche of pumpkin soup and gaots cheese batons.Quality bread.Enjoyed a light and delicious seafood chowder. My first experience of separate veloute poured over at the table Masterchef style.
Mains of lamb two ways with sides of rustic potato and of pumpkin.
Delicious chocolate delice. £100 for meal plus aperitif. Considerably more if your husband orders the Chateau Musar!
We enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere and good service very much.

We have always argued that lunch is even more important than dinner and, should be given more love and attention than it currently merits now. My wife insists that our physical and mental health will both thank us. Not many restaurants on the Island open up for lunch so choosing a good one is no mean task.
The inside at Noni Restaurant is clean and gorgeous which is quite a welcome shock because the outside does not indicate anything of the sort! Situated at the far end of Republic Street in the City’s Capital, the area is more known for the legislative, judiciary and commercial purposes. The place, which was once a residence, has been converted with gusto retaining various memories from its ancient past. Practically all the dining tables are downstairs and one has to take to stairs to reach his/her table as no lift service is available. Chef Jonathan Brincat, also known as “Noni”, is the founder and co-owner of the restaurant with the same name.
The menu is very limited with some extras of the day. From the Starters’ section, we ordered two different types of carpaccio, one of Sea Bass and the other of Ox Tongue. The presentation was visually appealing and creative but scarce on the plate. Same thing with our main order of Stonebass for my wife and local Pork for me. Both orders were served with one side bowl of roasted potatoes and one bowl of roasted pumpkin. Only one dessert of Vanilla Cheese Cake which we shared. We both admit that we did not feel stuffed but the experience was satisfying not only to our appetite but our eyes and our emotions also. Can’t say the same thing to my wallet though as the total bill ran up to €120.
This one drives me nuts. I rarely eat in so-called fine dining restaurants simply because they offer appalling value for money and the claim that they use much more expensive ingredients simply does not add up. We are sure that many would complain silently that they never asked for the “kid’s menu”. However after criticizing the shady side of the cost system we still insist that if you like food (which is different to liking eating) then it is worth saving up to discover a good quality restaurant at least once. We are sure you will end up with a great and memorable experience.
Other extras included in the bill were 2 bottles of water, 2 glasses of prosecco and 2 Espressos. Service was 100% perfect and helpful. Free bread plus olives and a sip of Pumpkin soup were graciously given for free prior to our food.

The driver who dropped us off in Valletta recommended this restaurant and we took a chance and went without a reservation. Even though the restaurant was busy, the staff accommodated us. Our dinners were delicious and the staff were very helpful. An excellent place for dinner.
